Biography

Jeanne Walker is a Los Angeles based vocalist, songwriter, and instrumentalist. Originally from Minnesota, her musical journey began at the tender age of 8 when she began taking piano lessons and auditioning for roles in musical theatre. Eventually, her love for performing would soon lead into a deep passion for learning guitar, singing, and songwriting. She started performing professionally at the age of fourteen, playing original songs in the neighboring city of Rochester, Minnesota, where she became very involved in the local music scene. In 2010, she began landing professional performance gigs in local restaurants, wineries, and music venues. At 16 years old, Jeanne marked her territory at Rochester’s popular weekly summer arts festival: “Thursday’s on First & 3rd”, becoming one of the most well-known street performers in the area and eventually landing a gig on the Peace Plaza Stage. Jeanne has since performed with a wide range of professional chamber choirs, bands, and ensembles in the midwestern area.

After high-school, Jeanne went on to attend Columbia College Chicago where she studied music, piano, voice, and songwriting. She performed at many well-known Chicago venues including The Hideout, House of Blues Chicago, and Manifest Urban Arts Festival, an end-of-the-year music festival where artists like Chance The Rapper and Electric Guest have been featured. In 2013, Jeanne met and signed a recording contract with BGM records to begin working on her first acoustic EP “Fade” which debuted and released the same year. During her time at Columbia, she participated in artist-lead workshops, master classes, and rehearsals; many times in the company of some of the most renowned producers, A&R’s, and musicians in the music industry. She has worked closely with instructors like Bobbi Wilson and Carol Lo Verde to perfect her vocal skills.

In 2015, Jeanne moved to Los Angeles, CA and began teaching vocal and songwriting lessons to young, aspiring students, while performing at popular Hollywood venues like The Viper Room, The Whiskey A Go-Go, and The Mint under the stage name ‘Koko Røse’. Jeanne has shared the stage with artists/bands such as Jamie Lono, Paper Jackets, Deer Emerson, and The Howlin Brothers. She currently specializes in contemporary, urban, and popular music for singer songwriters and has worked alongside esteemed producers such as TK Kayembe and Sergeiu Gherman. Jeanne is dedicated to the pursuit of translating her experiences and talents to other artists, as well as using her extensive skills to help grow future talent in the music industry.
