Voice Lessons
We offer voice lessons for all ages, levels and interests. Because each student has different goals, our voice lessons are customized to the needs of each individual voice student; and that includes the style of music that the student wants to play, be it classical, rock, jazz, country or pop.
Studies show that there are many benefits to music and voice lessons, especially in the long term. Therefore, our goal is to keep the students interested, engaged and excited about learning music and singing through many additional fun and educational experiences. We want to develop great musicians out of all our students, including the students that pursue singing as a hobby or a de-stressing activity.
Our music and voice lessons are based on the belief that great musicians are extremely good at their instrument, including sight reading, technique, theory and so on; that they have a lot of practical experience, performing on different stages for all kinds of audiences; and finally, that they know how to record and what to do and expect in a recording studio. Our music school is unique in the fact that our lessons are designed to teach all these aspects of musicianship, which a private instructors or other schools do not have the knowledge or facilities to teach.
We also encourage and help our students to perform with other students. This can be accomplished formally through our Rock Band or Bands and Ensembles programs, or informally by finding and performing together with other students at our Student Showcases or other community events.

Voice Lessons FAQs
What are the benefits of voice lessons?
How old should my child be to start voice lessons?
Every teacher is subjective as to what age to start vocal training. The student should be old enough to the point that thier voice is beginning to physically develop and mature. For young children, voice lessons can be good as long as they are not forcing the child’s vocal chords to do something they are not developed enough to handle.
What do you teach during voice lessons? What teaching methods?
A typical voice lesson consists of the following parts:
Vocal Warm-up exercises designed to fully engage the body and prepare it for vocalizations.
Breathing exercises made to improve the students breathing patterns and teach them to breath efficiently.
Music Theory Education: Keeping our students fully educated on what they’re singing and how to make changes.
Development of personal repertoire: preparing students on the ability to learn a song properly and how to practice at home.
Are there different methods for learning how to sing? What is the difference and which one is better?
There is not one specific way to learn how to sing. Many students learn naturally and at their own pace. Diaphragmatic support is one technique that is widely taught because learning to sing with your diaphragm is the first step to finding your unique voice.
Our Voice Teachers
All of our music teachers have many years of teaching, playing and performing experience; with most being graduates of, and having master degrees from, some of the best music conservatories and universities in the country: Harvard University, Cleveland Institute of Music, Rice University, Texas Christian University, Southern Methodist University, Boston Conservatory, and University of Southern California. Excellent music instruction and great learning experience are our top priorities and that starts with having the very best music teachers and all the support the school can give them. Our teachers are great with children, adults, beginners or advanced students, and are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals.
